Britain is made up of four nations — each with its own identity, culture, language, and history. Together they form the United Kingdom.
Home to Shakespeare, Dickens, Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling, and The Beatles. The British Museum holds 8 million works from across human history.
Birthplace of football, cricket, rugby & tennis. The Premier League is the world's most-watched football league, broadcast in 212 territories.
Famous for fish & chips, afternoon tea, and Sunday roasts. Britain drinks 165 million cups of tea daily — more than any country except Ireland.
King Charles III is the current monarch. The Royal Family draws millions of tourists and remains a powerful symbol of British identity and heritage.
Official London residence of the British Monarch. The Changing of the Guard is iconic.
The palace has 775 rooms — 52 royal bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices, and 78 bathrooms. Originally built in 1703 as a private townhouse.
The Elizabeth Tower houses the famous bell, keeping time since 1859 at 96 metres tall.
"Big Ben" is the 13.7-tonne bell inside — not the tower! Renamed the Elizabeth Tower in 2012 for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.
Prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, over 4,500 years old. Its purpose remains mysterious.
The largest stones weigh 25 tonnes and were transported 200 miles from Wales — with no wheels or machinery. How? Still debated by archaeologists.
A fortress on volcanic rock, dominating Scotland's capital skyline since the 12th century.
Built on an extinct volcano, it has been besieged 26+ times — more than almost any other castle in the world. It houses the Scottish Crown Jewels.
Britain is a small island nation with an outsized impact on the world.
From democracy and the Industrial Revolution,
to football, the World Wide Web, and Harry Potter —
few places have shaped our world more profoundly.
